Tape-In Hair Extensions in Bradenton & Palmetto, FL
Tape-in extensions are the most popular hair extension method at Belt Salon — and for good reason. Using a thin, medical-grade adhesive strip, lightweight wefts of 100% Remy human hair are sandwiched between small sections of your natural hair. The result is added length and volume that lies flat, moves naturally, and is virtually undetectable.
How Tape-In Extensions Work
Your stylist applies pre-taped wefts in pairs, placing one above and one below a thin section of your hair. The adhesive bonds are slim and flexible, so they move with your hair and don’t create bumps or visible lines. A full installation typically uses 40–60 wefts and takes about 60–90 minutes.
Benefits of Tape-In Extensions
Tape-ins are lightweight and comfortable — many clients forget they’re wearing them within a day. The installation process is quick compared to other methods, and the adhesive is gentle enough for most hair types including fine and thin hair. Tape-in extensions can be reused multiple times (the tape is simply replaced at each maintenance appointment), making them one of the most cost-effective extension methods over time.
Maintenance & Longevity
Tape-in extensions need to be moved up every 6–8 weeks as your natural hair grows. During a move-up appointment, your stylist removes the wefts, replaces the adhesive strips, and reapplies the extensions closer to your roots. With proper care, a set of quality tape-in hair can last 9–12 months.

Is Tape-In Right for You?
Tape-in extensions work well for most hair types and textures. They’re especially popular with first-time extension clients because of their comfort and ease of maintenance. However, if your hair is very fine or you’re looking for maximum volume, your stylist may recommend combining tape-ins with another method or exploring alternatives like invisible bead extensions.

Tape-In Extensions FAQ
How long does tape-in installation take?
A full tape-in installation at Belt Salon typically takes 60–90 minutes. Move-up appointments (every 6–8 weeks) take about 45–60 minutes.
Can I color my hair with tape-in extensions?
Yes. Your stylist can color your natural hair with tape-in extensions installed. We recommend having color done at the salon so your stylist can protect the adhesive bonds during the process.
Can I swim or exercise with tape-ins?
Absolutely. Once installed, tape-ins handle swimming, workouts, and everyday activities. We recommend waiting 48 hours after installation before getting them wet, and always using a gentle sulfate-free shampoo.
