Aveda Nutriplenish Treatment Masque: Deep Moisture for Seriously Dry Hair

  • 3 min read

Florida’s sun, salt water, and chlorine pull moisture out of hair relentlessly. If your regular conditioner isn’t keeping up, Aveda Nutriplenish Treatment Masque is the reinforcement. It’s an intensely hydrating weekly treatment that uses superfood-powered ingredients to drench dry hair in moisture and lock it in for days, not hours.

At Belt Salon, we recommend this masque to any client who mentions dryness, rough texture, or hair that feels like it drinks up product without ever feeling moisturized enough. It comes in two weights—Deep Moisture for medium to thick hair, and Light Moisture for fine to medium hair—so every texture gets the right level of hydration.

Aveda Nutriplenish Treatment Masque provides 4X the hydration of untreated hair with superfood complex

.

How It Works

The masque is built around Aveda’s Nutriplenish superfood complex: coconut oil, pomegranate oil, and mango butter. These ingredients are rich in omega fatty acids that penetrate the hair shaft and restore the lipid barrier that keeps moisture sealed inside. When that barrier breaks down from sun exposure, chemical processing, or hard water, moisture escapes and hair goes dry—no matter how much conditioner you use.

The Deep Moisture version provides maximum hydration for thick, coarse, or extremely dry hair. The Light Moisture version delivers the same superfood nutrition without the weight, keeping fine and medium hair hydrated and bouncy rather than flat.

How to Use It

After shampooing with Nutriplenish Shampoo, apply the masque from mid-lengths to ends. Leave on for five minutes, or longer for extremely dry hair. Rinse thoroughly. Use once or twice a week in place of your regular conditioner.

For an overnight treatment, apply a thin layer before bed, wrap hair in a silk scarf or bonnet, and wash out in the morning. This is especially effective for hair recovering from a beach vacation or a pool-heavy summer.

Who Should Use It

Clients with dry, damaged, or dehydrated hair of any texture. It’s particularly valuable for anyone who swims regularly, spends a lot of time outdoors, colors their hair, or uses heat tools frequently. If your hair feels dry within a day of washing and conditioning, your moisture barrier is compromised—this masque repairs it.

It’s also excellent for curly and coily hair types, which tend to be drier by nature because the curl pattern makes it harder for natural oils to travel down the hair shaft.

Frequently Asked Questions

Should I use Deep Moisture or Light Moisture?

If your hair is thick, coarse, or extremely dry, go with Deep Moisture. If your hair is fine to medium and you worry about products weighing it down, choose Light Moisture. When in doubt, ask your stylist at Belt Salon—we can assess your hair’s porosity and texture in person.

Can I use it every day?

It’s designed for weekly use. Using it daily can over-condition your hair, making it limp and difficult to style. Stick to one to two times per week and use the Nutriplenish Leave-In Conditioner on other days for daily moisture.

How is this different from the Botanical Repair Masque?

Nutriplenish focuses on hydration—restoring moisture to dry hair. Botanical Repair focuses on structural repair—rebuilding broken bonds in damaged hair. Dry hair and damaged hair overlap, but they’re not the same thing. If your hair is both dry and damaged, alternate between the two masques on different weeks.

Is Aveda Nutriplenish Treatment Masque vegan?

Yes, it’s 100% vegan and cruelty-free.
